Ralph V. Boccia, MD, FACP
Dr. Boccia specializes in hematology and medical oncology and is board certified in both. He completed his medical school at the University of Minnesota and completed training in internal medicine at University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA)–affiliated hospitals. He completed hematology, oncology and bone marrow transplant fellowships at the combined UCLA-Veterans Administration Program and The National Cancer Institute at the National Institutes of Health.
Dr. Boccia is Clinical Associate Professor of Medicine at Georgetown University, and is Chief Medical Officer of the International Oncology Network (ION), and is chairman of ION’s Medical Advisory Panel. Every year since 1992 both Washingtonian Magazine and Washington D.C. Consumers’ Checkbook have listed him among the region’s best physicians.
Dr. Boccia is a member of the American College of Physicians, the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO), the American Society of Hematology (ASH) and the Multinational Association for Supportive Care in Cancer (MASCC). He has published numerous articles in the journals Annals of Internal Medicine, New England Journal of Medicine, Blood, Cancer, Cancer Research, Journal of Clinical Oncology, Oncology and The Lancet.
